Songs in the Key of Anti-Violence

With greater visibility comes greater vulnerability. This is true of many things, but none more so than the plight of the GLBT community. While we're making great strides in gaining full equality and acceptance, the number of hate violence attacks has risen at an alarmingly high rate. Maybe more people are reporting such incidents, but there seems to be a strong correlation between our increased media and political presence and when these attacks occur. What's worse, is that this kind of violence is taking place in supposed safe havens like our very own gayborhoods.

Which is why organizations like the Anti-Violence Project, a non-profit dedicated to addressing and preventing hate violence, are needed more than ever. For 30 years, AVP has been a leader in taking care of our community through counseling, advocacy, organizing and public education. This Thursday, April 14th, the Anti-Violence Project will be hosting a Bear-aoke night at Rockbar NYC to raise awareness (and some funds) for the organization. If you're in NYC and want to drop in and lend your support via killer vocals, please do. I'll be there ready to do some harm to a few classic power ballads, so if you're there be sure to say hello!

Bear-aoke
Thursday, April 14 · 8:00pm - 11:00pm

Rockbar NYC
185 Christopher Street
New York, NY

Ever wished you could party at an ancient Roman discotheque? If you answered yes, have we got the ticket for you! Notorious party throwers The Saint At Large, in association with the House of Yes and Lady Circus (the sexually charged acrobatic troupe), present Caligula Maximus, a sexually charged, performance/dance party wrapped in a end-of-the-world-inhibition-free musical extravaganza. leather try on

For years now I've been told that Black Party is one of those things that I need to experience at least once, and finally after many years of conflicting schedules, I'm able to go. For my big Black Party debut (March 19th @ Roseland Ballroom in NYC), I knew I needed a kickass leather getup, so I tracked down one of the leather designers. David Menkes, of David Samuel Menkes Custom Leatherwear, has been in the business for over 30 years and in addition to creating impeccably fitted pieces for Leathermen of all shapes and sizes, he's also one of the nicest guys in town.

Watch as I chat with David about his work and what I should wear when I pop my Black Party/Leather cherry.

Blowoff

For the past several years, I'd hear about this party in NYC called BLOWOFF. Friends who had gone would tell me I would have love it - that it's a big dance party filled with my type of guys (i.e lots of hot daddies and hunters). And every year I'd put it off, only to regret it when I would see pictures from the event and kick myself for missing out on all the sexy, beary, daddylicious fun. From what I've seen and heard, it seems to be somewhere between dancing at a bar with friends and a full blown circuit party. Which to me sounds perfect.

Well come this Friday, I'll be blowing off with the rest and best of them at Highline Ballroom, and the great news is that you can too! We're giving away a pair of BLOWOFF NYC tickets to one lucky Daddyhunt member. Just let us know in the comments: "How do you usually blow off steam?" The winner will be notified this Friday via their Daddyhunt inbox.

Daddyhunt Meetup

Hey Mr., lookin' for a good time? Of course you are! Join us next Wednesday as the entire Daddyhunt team (Carl, Danny, Cinnamon, and myself) will hold our first annual Daddyhunt Meetup at The Will Clark Show featuring Porno Bingo. If you've ever been to one of Will Clark's events, you know that it's a super sexy way to raise money for various LGBT non-profits across the country. With incredible guest stars from the porn and nightlife world, his bingo games make screaming out "O 69" seem tame.

As always, Will will host next week's event, which benefits the Queens Pride House, an LGBT community center that offers tons of services including health referrals, hotlines, and resources within the borough. The show will also feature Jonathan Griffith & JC Alvarez, co-hosts for the internet talk show Talking About, as well as singer Todd Alsup, who's songs have been features on MTV's The Real World. The night wouldn't be complete without some skin, so they've brought in Go-Go Boy Sean to shake it like a polaroid picture.

It really is a great time and there's lots of fun porn and prizes to win and we'll have lots to give away. It's an easy, no-pressure way to meet other members and take your conversations offline. We're hoping that all of our members in the NYC area will come out and play with us. If all goes well we hope to have more meetups like this across the country - so holler in the...

We're spreading the holiday happies for the second day in a row and posting this new Chanukah jam by the Maccabeats, Yeshiva University's a cappella group, which has been making the viral video rounds this week. Is there anything more heart melty than cute boys who can sing? Whether they're gay Jews or not (thin line), they've performed quite the Chanukah miracle by adding another holiday song to our repertoire, bringing the grand total of Chanukah songs to...4.

If Chanukah Harry could grant you eight nights of anything, what would it be? And be creative, daddy sex eight days in a row is totally achievable, no miracle necessary.

I've got my sweatpants at the ready for tomorrow night's yearly gorge fest and I could not be more excited to stuff my belly with all kinds of Thanksgiving goodness. While surfing through some fun recipes for the big day, I came across the most amazing food mashup I have ever laid eyes on. It combines all the classic Turkey Day foods into one incredible (and most likely polarizing) cake.

It's three layers of turkey, stuffing, and sweet potatoes with a thin layer of cranberry sauce in between. Then - and this is my favorite part - to top it all off they ice the cake with mash potatoes! Mash potato icing! Why have I never thought about this before!? Genius I tell you. If you're feeling adventurous this year, you can find the recipe here.

Now the only question is, who's going to rub my belly after I go back for fourths?

Got a holiday recipe to share with the group? Post below.
