Where the Bears Are

God bless you internet. You provide so many of the things we never thought we wanted, but are so happy to discover they exist. For instance, this new bear-centric murder mystery/comedy web series, Where the Bears Are. I've never been one to follow a web series, but I got a few laughs from the trailer and the several shirtless (and pantsless) bears definitely piqued my interest even more. Maybe it's time I give one a chance. The series premieres August 1, and judging from the trailer plenty of hijinks are set to ensue.

"From the creative team of Rick Copp (The Brady Bunch Movie) Joe Dietl (The Thin Pink Line) and Ben Zook (Jack and Jill) comes “Where the Bears Are,” a comedy mystery web series that follows the exploits of three gay bear roommates living together in Los Angeles, as they attempt to solve the murder of a party guest that turned up dead in their bathroom."

Looks fun right?

Welcome to our first ever Daddyhunt Peer Series! We'll be issuing 5 questions to guys across the globe to learn more about our mature brethren in an effort to entertain, enlighten, and hopefully inspire. First up, film maker Casper Andreas.

Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Casper Andreas. I grew up in Sweden but I live in New York. I'm a film director, writer and actor. My latest film "Going Down in LA-LA Land" is about to open in theaters, starting with New York this Friday (April 20th).

Tell us about Going Down in La La Land.
It's a dark comedy, or dramedy if you want, about a struggling actor in Los Angeles who ends up getting involved in all kind of shady stuff to survive in Hollywood.

What do you know today that you wish you knew 20 years ago.
That Apple stock should be bought and held on to.

If you could part one piece of wisdom on today's gay youth, what would it be?
Don't waste your life away on stuff you really don't want to do, or worry to much about stuff you can't change. Life is too short -- it needs to be lived with passion!

Describe your perfect day for us.
I have to spend at least a few days doing something creative. So unless that means shooting a movie, it's sitting a few hours at Starbucks working on my new script. It also involves some time at the gym, and a nice dinner with good friends. Let's throw in a massage too! All that writing makes my neck very tense.

Now that we have things like MISTER, cruising for sex in public places is starting to become a thing of the past. I came across this trailer for The Men's Room, a new short film premiering at the 2012 Atlanta Film Festival, and it's look like it'll be quite the hot topic, tackling everything from male sexuality to intimacy and the concept of public decency.

The Men's Room Trailer from Nature Show on Vimeo.

Here's a short synopsis of the film, directed by Jane Pickett:

When Thomas ventures into a park for a sexual encounter with a stranger, he uncovers a striking complexity composed of desire, fear, and betrayal when his would-be anonymous sex partner turns out to be a cop. The Men's Room explores the seemingly unwelcome yet enduring pastime of public sex, a world of secrecy and code lurking just below the surface of normalcy.

If you're in the Atlanta area, be sure to check out the film festival. The Men's Room will debut on Sunday, March 25th at the Landmark Midtown Art...

The weather's getting warmer, the flowers are on the verge of bloom and the men and bears are coming out of hibernation. This can only mean one thing: the sexiest of all seasons is almost upon us. There's always a little more pep in everyone's step during those first gorgeous days transitioning from Winter to Spring, and people seems to be more open to meeting and making new friends. Let's take a page from Mr. George Takei and do a little happy dance for what should be a beautiful week.

What's your favorite part about Spring?

Just listening to her greatest hit, I'm reminded of what an incredible contribution Whitney Houston has made to pop music. Whatever her troubles, let's remember the good times and joy she brought to so many of us in our headphones and on the dance floor.

At the too young age of 48, Whitney Houston is no longer with us. May she rest in peace.

What was your favorite Whitney Houston song?

"Turn your ass around, swim upstream and find your salmon ass a hungry bear!"
- Davey Wavey, Blogger & Trainer in his MISTER Daddy Date Video.

This month, MISTER teamed up with Davey Wavey, a popular, gay YouTube blogger who "wants to share his love with the world." No - not like that!

We love him because, in addition to always vlogging shirtless (he hates shirts!), he also tells some great stories about dating, the gay community and guys. When Davey Wavey told us he'd never been on a date with an older guy, we decided to give him a taste of a MISTER - we set him up on a blind date with a hot, hairy, and hung daddy here in NYC. Click below to see him him tell the story!

Attention San Francisco! Find yourself a hungry bear this Saturday at Kok Bar. We'll be sponsoring the first ever West Coast MISTER App Launch Party! Click here to RSVP to the event and find yourself a hot MISTER.

Old Dogs & New Tricks

In the why didn't we think of that category, comes a new web series about life after 40 called Old Dogs & New Tricks. "The “Baby Boomer” web series follows the friendship and tribulations of four diverse and otherwise successful West Hollywood men – each one located squarely within middle age and asks the question, "Does (sex) life end for gay men as they approach 50?" What results is a pretty funny look at growing old(er) in the gay community. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of this series (or possibly a spin off set in another locale) as I'm sure it'll give us plenty of topics to discuss.
