MR. Chad Griffin - Real Men We Admire

March 29, 2013

MR. Chad Griffin is this week’s Real Man We Admire.

If your Facebook feed has been awash in red over the past few days, you’ve got a few people to thank. First up are all your friends for their belief in equal rights for the LGBT community. The next is HRC. As president of the Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBT advocacy and political lobbying organization in the United States, Griffin works tirelessly to combat LGBT discrimination all across the country, from standing up for gay teens being bullied in small town America to taking the battle for marriage equality all the way to the Supreme Court.

It’s a fight the handsome 39-year-old is confident we’ll win (and not just because his middle name happens to be Hunter): “I’m optimistic that it will be one that brings about freedom and equality and Proposition 8 will be erased from our books once and for all,” he told reporters. “The end is certainly in sight.”

For more of Griffin's take on the situation, check out the video below or read his fantastic op-ed piece in U.S. News and World Report. Then head to the HRC website for up-to-minute news on this historic LGBT moment and to find out some simple things you can do right now to support the cause.

We know Chad is not the only leader in this fight. Who else do you think has been a driving force? If you're outside the US, who are the leaders in your country?

At least the HRC (a group I do not support for various reasons) got rid of that sleezebag Joe Solmonese. His only interest was in cashing in on lucrative cocktail parties and promoting abortion. He left to promote corporate interests for the mega-wealthy. Hopefully this new guy can turn the HRC around but I don't know.
